Community Dinner & Worship
Every Sunday at 5 pm, we have our weekly dinner and worship gathering. Our worship tends to be casual and participatory. We believe that everyone who worships with us has a word from God to share, so our messages consist in both traditional preaching and discussion. If you’re looking to be told exactly what to believe and what to do, we might not be the right community for you, but if you’re looking for a place where we can discover God’s truth and beauty together, then check us out.
Small Groups
Throughout the years, we’ve hosted a variety of small groups, including Freshmen group, Graduate group, Prism LGBT+ group, cross-stitch, movie nights, and other small group studies led independently by students and by our campus minister. Please reach out for information on what we currently have going on!
Retreats
Fall retreat is typically taken within an hours’ driving distance of New Orleans. Whether it’s at the beach, a retreat center, cabins, one of our beautiful United Methodist Assemblies, Fall retreat is a time to unplug, relax and get to know fellow students at the start of each Fall semester.
Mission & Service
Service is the way in which we physically live out the gospel of Christ. We aren’t just volunteers, but see serving our neighbors as a way of life in response to God’s grace. How we serve our community varies from semester to semester, but has included cooking and serving dinner to our homeless neighbors, Habitat for Humanity, spring break trips out of state, tutoring local school children, and assisting at the local animal shelter.
The Labyrinth Cafe and Gathering Place
The Labyrinth, located at 7102 Freret Street, is a donation-based cafe supported by NOLA Wesley. The Labyrinth, located in the front part of our building, offers coffee, juices, panini, bagels, and snacks and provides an environment for students to relax, study, and hang out. Food and drinks are available on a suggested donation basis. The Labyrinth is also a music venue that often features Loyola and Tulane artists as well as an event space for student clubs and academic departments to host movies, workshops, yoga classes, discussions, and galas.
Home Away From Home
Wesley’s building is available for studying, hanging out, and prayer/meditation throughout the year. We have dorm-style rooms and living areas upstairs for student residents, a downstairs student lounge and backyard patio. Please make yourself at home!
